The H1N1 vaccination work for second group of people was started last Tuesday. 160,000 tubes of H1N1 vaccines will be used on teachers and students of the city.
About a dozen doctors and nurses came to the Cicheng High School on the morning of December 1 to provide the vaccination service for the teachers and students. It was learned that prior to the vaccination the parents of the students had to sign up their names to give their consensus for the vaccination. The vaccination would be completed within one week. All the lodging students and teachers would have to be vaccinated, primarily including third-year students of junior high and senior high.
Gan Ailing, deputy chief director of Health Bureau said: “We’ll follow strict steps before vaccination, in vaccination and after vaccination. We’ll do our best to ensure a smooth going of the vaccination work so as to safeguard the health and safety of our teachers and students.”
Though the vaccine is safe, vaccination takers have to be observed for 30 minutes after the vaccination, to see if there is any mass hysteria and anaphylactic shock. A first-aid emergency station was also set up on the spot to cope with any unexpected side effects.
Hu Xuelian, a doctor with Jianbei People’s Hospital said: “After getting vaccinated, many students may feel slight adverse reactions, such as dizziness or weakness. They may feel sour or bilge on the part of injection. But it will be very slight reaction. But students need to pay attention that after vaccination, they should not take PE class, should not do sports. They had better drink more warm water and take rest.
